Your new girlfriend looks like a t-rex 08/03/2010
I found this hilariously named bag of chocolates while in Southern California these past couple weeks. I purchased them intending not to eat them as a symbolic gesture of my resolve not to be one, but then today I didn't get any writing done and skipped my dance class to spend all day in bed eating several Dilettante Truffle Creams. Naturally, as should be expected, they were not satisfying and will make me fat. On a more positive note, I did just acquire this magnificently well-rounded tooth brush. Not only does it remove plaque, it lights up and can stick to walls! "I was going to bring back all such things into my life and become again that most limited of all specialists, the well-rounded man." Stuffed Herr Johann and Pelle in the Donna Karen tote then off to Dotties for brunch... kept hearing about the good food and atrocious two-hour long lines so finally decided to check it out. Great diner (totally worth a try) and there was no line. (P.S. i think this tote makes me understand the dilemma of being with someone high maintenance. it's so HEAVY and every time I arduously lug it around i vow never to use it again..but it's so pretty...and i get seduced to take it out again.) I like the feeling of diners - like I'm in a time of the past or road tripping back from a hiking, snowboarding or some other 'stuff-white-people-like' weekend excursion (rock-climbing! yea! rock-climbing!) Then I went to the Japanese Grocery Market to get some sushi, okra and keem, and found myself in the middle of the Cherry Blossom Festival surrounded by drunk Japanese people in panda hats eating mochi on the stick. and then I followed this little boy around for a while... then his mom started following me around and so I went home to eat my sushi I miss Japan. I love how absolutely absurd it is. The ridiculous extravagance juxtaposed with exquisite refinement, and everyone is so courteous! No obstreperous blabbing on a cell phone in the metro. Even the chaoticism of Harajuki has a neatness about it, decent sushi in a 7-11 at nearly any hour of the day, and you can get my sister's CDs! Hello, Stranger 03/21/2010
so much for a t-rex tea party... 02/27/2010
sigh... * * * * * * * * * “I don’t want realism. I want magic! Yes, yes, magic!" My favorite Annie Leibovitz shoot/Vogue spread ever (rest are here). Super excited for Tim Burton's film next week since i'm pretty obsessed with anything Alice in Wonderland. i'm Moulting, Moulting!! Ohhh, what a world! 02/27/2010
Marcel Bonaparte Pelle I i've been on a French macaron kick lately. i used to not like them, then i had some really delicious ones and i realized it was bad macarons that i didn't like, the good ones i like just fine. These that i had today were bof/meh (as should already have been apparent by the bowl of latte they served.) i haven't been satisfied with any i've had in SF. i think they are too delicate of creatures to be made by heavy American hands. ![]() My flower preferences have also recently changed. new bouquet of luminous purple Irises and a bunch of marvelous little white flowers that come together to make a Hydrangea. ![]() i used to always get lilies i think out of Habit (that sneaky Tyrant), but i've been getting so annoyed of (for lack of more genteel language) their sluttiness (yes, i just called a flower slutty). Lilies make their presence in a room immediately known, bright petals spread wide open exposing their pollen, and nearly assaulting the nose with their strong perfume. Unlike the more demure Hydrangea and Iris that compel one to linger near them, lean in closely to enjoy their innocently alluring scent. (lilies beside a lambchop i taxidermied this summer) My souls getting restless. itching to get out like this little cicada bis dann... Fighting Gingivitis is a Full-Time Job 02/03/2010
cool new soap dish (it's actually a nut bowl but I think he's better suited in the watery bathroom) and Christmas card I got to sent to Frau Mommy und Herr Ahpa today. (Ahpa means dad in Korean..and X-mas cards are 90% off at Pier 1!). Guten Tag! I wanted to wish you both a very Merry Christmas which I assume you are aware is scheduled to occur the twenty-fifth of December this year... O hostile Fate! 02/01/2010
little chocolate covered cherry mice I made to send my sister along with some CowGirl Creamery cheeses since I found these great goudas I think she'd like. Their names are Mik, Mak, Nik, Nak and Jonathan. The last words we heard squeaked from inside Pelle's jaw: "Yet in spite of the divine nature radiating from me, long-tailed spirit of light that I am, do I not partake of the fate of all mortals?" Jonathan, Mik, Mak, and Nik mournfully bid what remained of Nak (a cherry stem and pit) their most respectful adieus before sending him peacefully down the garbage disposal. adorable, almost-a-dozen cupcakes my sister made and sent last week. This one was my favorite: ALERT! Have you seen me? :( 01/24/2010
